Wooden Coffin Candy Holder

Handmade miniature wooden candy coffin. These caskets were inspired by authentic look of old-timey wood coffins from the West. These Trick or Treat candy coffins are made from reclaimed wood of either pine or cedar and are individually made with great attention to detail.

East coffin is approximately 24” long, 10” wide (at the widest point) and 5 ¾” tall. They are comprised of multi-plank panels which gives them the authentic varying wood grain pattern appearance of several different planks being used to build one coffin. They feature authentic details such as support planks on the interior and intricate angles throughout.

These caskets are lightly sanded and are left unfinished to aid in the authentic wooden look. The natural unfinished wood will patina with time. The inside is left unfinished, as well, and is recommended to add a food-safe finish such as butcher’s block conditioner or mineral spirits or beeswax finish, if the intention is to place an open food item inside. The lids are secured with two small hinges and a latch on the front to keep the lid closed, when desired.

There are three different options for engraving on the front lid: No Engraving, “Trick or Treat,” or Custom Engraving. If Custom Engraving is selected, please place the engraving in the open field within quotation marks.

I made these to handout candy to trick-or-treaters this year, thought it would be a fun and unique help sprinkle the holiday magic. Though, these coffins could be used as a candy dish in your workplace, doctors office or home and could be used as a gift box or a coffee table caddy for your home décor. With your imagination, they could be used for anything!
